Important legislations expected in NA, Senate sessions today
The National Assembly meeting, presided over by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, will convene at 4 PM. A seven-point agenda has been released, which includes the anticipated approval of the Anti-Terrorism Amendment Bill and a bill aimed at increasing the number of judges.
According to the agenda, the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Amendment Ordinance will be presented in the Assembly. This bill includes amendments to Section Two of Act Seventeen, stipulating that every case will be presented before a designated bench under the supervision of the Chief Justice.
A notice regarding Pakistan’s ranking of 129 in the Rule of Law Index will also be presented. Additionally, there will be a motion of thanks for the President’s address to the joint session.
Furthermore, the agenda includes a notice by Aliya Kamran addressing the grounding of PIA aircraft, along with a question-and-answer session and points of order.
On the other hand, the Senate session will feature a 39-point agenda, which includes the introduction of three new bills and the reports and approvals of 11 bills from the standing committees.
The government has directed all parliament members to ensure their attendance in the sessions.
