PM calls for national unity to drive progress and development

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has called on all coalition parties to build on the spirit of unity for progress and development of the country. He was talking to members of the Senate and National Assembly in Islamabad on Friday, after approval of the federal budget 2025-26.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to all the coalition parties for their role in preparation and approval of the budget.

He said with this ideal unity, we all have to work together for economic stability of the country.

Referring to Pakistan's recent victory against Indian aggression, the Prime Minister said the armed forces, political leadership, people, civil society and media of Pakistan all unitedly crushed the evil designs of the enemy.

He said victory against India has raised Pakistan's prestige in the international community.

The Prime Minister said diplomatic delegation led by Chairman Pakistan People's Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, made Pakistan's position clear and exposed India's nefarious intentions towards Pakistan to the world.

He said the delegation received international recognition and overseas Pakistanis also accorded a grand welcome to it and paid tribute to the government and armed forces of Pakistan for the victory against India.

Speaking about the situation in Middle East, the Prime Minister said Pakistan expressed solidarity with Iran at all levels during the Israeli aggression against Iran.

The Prime Minister said he was in contact with the Iranian leadership, especially President Masoud Pezeshkian.

He said resolution of the Israel-Iran conflict will open the doors for peace and prosperity in the region.
