Senate Continues Deliberations on Federal Budget 2025–26

Responding to Point of Order by Senator Danesh Kumar, he said special quasi-judicial provisions have been incorporated in the National Commission for Minorities Rights Act, 2025 to empower the head of the Commission, who will be representative of the minority community.
The Law Minister said under the provisions, the Commission head will conduct inquiries, give directions and impose penalties in case of non-compliance of the Commission’s orders.
Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Kesoo Mal Kheeal Das, informed the House that Hindu girls abducted in Tharparkar have been recovered by police and were presented in the Court today.
He said the Constitution of Pakistan accords equal rights to minorities in the country.
To another Point of Order, Azam Nazeer Tarar said development of Balochistan is one of the topmost priorities of the government.
He said the Prime Minister himself is giving special attention to projects of Balochistan.
He said four Daanish Schools for provision of world class education facilities to Baloch students are being established in four districts of the province.
The Minister reiterated that the federal government will continue to make every possible effort for welfare of Baloch people.
Taking the floor, Shahadat Awan called for increasing the budgetary allocation for motorway projects in Sindh province.
Jan Muhammad Buledi proposed that there should have been a proper plan in the budget to address problems of Balochistan including education, health and youth employment. He emphasized concrete measures to address grievances of Baloch people.
Later, the House was adjourned to meet again at 12:30 pm tomorrow (Saturday).
