Field Marshal Asim Munir honors martyrs on Defence Day

Marking September 6, Pakistan’s Armed Forces saluted the nation’s fallen heroes and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country and serving its people with dedication.
In a joint message, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Air Chief, and Naval Chief echoed this resolve, honouring the bravery and determination of Pakistan’s soldiers.
Military leadership recalled September 6, 1965, as a symbol of national unity and courage, when Pakistan’s Armed Forces repelled enemy aggression with unmatched resolve. “Our soldiers stood like an unbreakable wall, backed by the strength of a united nation,” the statement declared.
The Armed Forces reiterated that any future aggression would be met with an immediate and decisive response.

Beyond defending the nation, the military leadership assured continued support for communities affected by natural disasters.
Rescue and relief operations remain underway in flood-affected areas, reflecting the Armed Forces’ enduring tradition of standing by the people in times of need.
Defence and Martyrs Day was observed across the country with solemnity, paying homage to all martyrs since 1947, particularly those who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism. Their courage and sacrifices will remain eternal.
The Armed Forces reaffirmed their resolve to protect peace and stability, declaring: “Long live Pakistan,” as conveyed by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
As the nation remembers its heroes, this Defence and Martyrs Day stands as a reminder to build a stronger, united, and prosperous Pakistan.
