Ishaq Dar, Saudi Foreign Minister discuss Gaza crisis

Pakistan and Saudi Arabian foreign ministers have discussed in detail the prevailing situation in Gaza as US President Donald Trump announced his place to end the war there.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar received a call from Saudi Foreign Minister His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, late Monday night upon his return to Islamabad from abroad.

The two leaders held a substantive discussion on the urgent situation in Gaza in the light of recent diplomatic efforts, including multiple rounds of deliberations between the foreign ministers of eight Arab-Islamic countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia and Pakistan) and the United States during the high-level week of the 80th UN General Assembly in New York.

Both leaders reaffirmed the importance of coordinated regional and international diplomacy to bring an immediate end to the suffering of the Palestinian people and towards a just and lasting peace, said a statement issued by the Foreign Office in Islamabad.
