Govt prioritizes support for agriculture, industrial sectors: PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities concerned to devise a comprehensive strategy for enhancing industrial and agricultural production through the efficient use of electricity. He was chairing a review meeting on Power Division's reform package for the Industrial and Agricultural Sectors in Islamabad on Monday.

The Prime Minister also directed the Power Division to prepare various recommendations to facilitate investors and industrialists. Shehbaz Sharif said providing maximum support to the agriculture and industrial sectors remains one of the government’s top priorities.

He said a policy should be developed to ensure the most productive use of electricity in the country. He noted that optimal use of electricity production can lead to an increase in industrial goods and agricultural output.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister was briefed by the Power Division on the electricity generation and a potential reform package for its comprehensive and efficient utilization.
