Two New Submersible Pumps Installed by Anosh Foundation to Aid 200+ Residents Daily

Anosh Foundation has launched another impactful charitable initiative in Karachi with the installation of two submersible water pumps in neighborhoods historically affected by water scarcity.

Valued at PKR 650,000 and dedicated as Esal-e-Sawab for the late father of Dr. Anosh Ahmed, the project is expected to benefit at least 200 residents daily, providing both immediate relief and long-term sustainability.

The first pump was installed in Sector 11-H of North Karachi, near Saint Joseph Church, serving a Christian neighborhood that had faced acute water shortages for more than 15 years. Groundwater levels had fallen beyond 250 feet, forcing residents to rely on costly alternatives.

The project included a 350-foot bore with an 8-inch diameter, a 1,000-liter storage tank, two faucets, and professional plumbing for sustainable water collection. This careful design ensures longevity, addressing a common issue with smaller 5-inch bores that often fail within two years.

The installation was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Warrior Wilson Gorey, who led prayers for Dr. Anosh Ahmed and his late father.

Residents expressed optimism that the pump would improve health outcomes, reduce the time spent fetching water, and alleviate financial pressures.

The second installation was completed in Al-Madina Colony, Sector 11 of Orangi Town, a Muslim-majority area where municipal water is delivered only once a month for a few hours. Families previously had to purchase additional water, spending around PKR 1,500 monthly.

The new submersible pump now provides daily access, ensuring a consistent household supply, lowering costs, and promoting healthier living conditions.

Dr. Anosh Ahmed emphasized that the initiative reflects a vision of serving all people without distinction of religion, sect, or status.

The Anosh Foundation and Anosh Inc. Foundation’s broader philanthropic efforts include ration distribution drives, the construction of a free medical dispensary, and international relief campaigns such as food distribution in Dubai and post-disaster aid in the United States.

Through this initiative, Dr. Anosh Ahmed continues to strengthen his community-first legacy, ensuring access to essential resources and improving quality of life for the underserved.
