Bannu Attack: 5 Terrorists Killed After Assault on CTD Armoured Vehicle

Five terrorists were killed during a shootout after they attacked Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Bannu. The incident occurred when the CTD team was passing through Domail Hilal Chowk in an armoured personnel carrier (APC).

The terrorists opened fire on the team, prompting a swift response from the law-enforcement personnel.

The terrorists then fled into a nearby house in an attempt to take shelter, during which they reportedly killed two civilians inside.

Following a coordinated operation by local police and CTD personnel, all five terrorists were neutralized.

Authorities recovered weapons and grenades from the slain militants.

This attack comes days after a terrorist strike on November 21, 2025, which left seven people dead and one injured at the office of the peace committee in Bannu.

Police said the previous attack targeted the office of the peace committee head, Qari Jaleel.

They said all bodies and injured have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, while an investigation has also been launched into the incident.

The victims had been identified as Danish, Kamran, Waliullah, Sufyan, Muhammad Niaz, Noman, and Sufyan.
