Bannu operation successfully neutralizes 22 terrorists, says ISPR

According to ISPR, the operation was conducted on 24 November 2025 following reports of the presence of Khwarij linked to the Indian-backed proxy group Fitna al Khwarij (FAK).
Security forces engaged the militants’ hideout, and after intense fire, 22 militants were killed.
A sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored militants in the area.
The ISPR reaffirmed that the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” will continue at full pace to eradicate foreign-backed terrorism from Pakistan.
In a related development, KP police in Bannu foiled a terrorist plot to destroy a bridge near Basia Khel.
The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) safely defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) containing 8 to 10 kg of explosives. Residents appreciated the timely intervention of the Bannu police.
They said that miscreants who ruin infrastructure and cause suffering to people deserve no mercy at all.
As per the police, the miscreants had linked a locally-made IED to the central pillar of the bridge.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu, Sajjad Khan, informed that the public infrastructure remained safe from destruction with the timely action.
