Karachi Airport Faces Chaos as Engineers’ Strike Grounds Flights

Flight operations at Karachi Airport were heavily disrupted on Sunday due to an ongoing engineers’ strike, resulting in multiple cancellations and delays across both domestic and international routes.

A total of seven flights were cancelled, while three others experienced significant delays.

The cancelled flights included Emirates EK 609 to Dubai, Oman Air WY 324 to Muscat, Salam Air OV 516 to Muscat, AirSial PF 143 to Lahore, AirBlue PA 404 to Lahore, AirSial PF 125 to Islamabad, and PIA PK 306 to Lahore.

Several other flights were rescheduled with delayed departures. PIA PK 308 from Karachi to Islamabad, originally scheduled for 4:00 am, has been postponed to 11:00 pm.

PIA PK 330 to Multan will now depart at 3:00 pm instead of 2:00 pm, and AirBlue PA 200 to Islamabad is delayed to 3:00 pm from its original 1:00 pm departure time.

Passengers were advised to check with their respective airlines for updated flight timings and to allow extra time for travel to the airport.

Airline officials expressed regret for the inconvenience caused due to the disruption in operations.
