Astronomers in Pakistan have forecasted the likely dates for Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Eid-ul-Adha for 2026. Using scientific calculations, they have provided tentative moon-sighting dates for the holy months and festivals.

Dr. Faheem Hashmi, a noted astronomer, said the Ramadan crescent is expected to be visible in Pakistan on February 18. If confirmed, the first day of Ramadan would fall on February 19.

This observation marks the beginning of the holy month of fasting for Muslims across the country.

Eid-ul-Fitr predicted for March 21

The astronomer also predicted that the Shawwal moon, marking the end of Ramadan, will likely be sighted on March 20. Consequently, Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations are expected to be held on March 21, depending on local moon sightings.

Dhul-Hijjah and Eid-ul-Adha dates

According to Dr. Hashmi, the month of Dhul-Hijjah is expected to start on May 17. Based on scientific calculations, Eid-ul-Adha could likely fall on May 27.

These dates are subject to confirmation based on the actual sighting of the moon in different parts of the country.
