List of Indian prisoners in Pakistan handed over to India, Foreign Office spokesperson says

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said on Thursday that Pakistan asks India to implement the Indus Waters Treaty.According to details, speaking at the weekly media briefing, Andrabi said that the Pakistani Indus Water commissioner has sent questions to his Indian counterpart, and Pakistan demands that India respond to these questions.

The MoFA spokesperson added that atrocities continue in Jammu and Kashmir at the hands of India, and the United Nations human rights machinery has also highlighted the situation. "Pakistan will continue to raise the Kashmir issue at international forums," he maintained.Andrabi expressed confidence that the statement by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi regarding Pakistan-India mediation is accurate.

Andrabi said that nuclear lists have been exchanged between Pakistan and India, with the details shared simultaneously in Islamabad and Delhi. Lists of prisoners were also exchanged between the two countries. According to the Foreign Office, a list of 257 Indian prisoners has been handed over to India.

He also stated that Pakistan rejects Israel’s decision to recognise Somaliland and that Pakistan supports Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Andrabi added that strategic talks between Pakistan and China will be held in Beijing from January 4, with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar representing Pakistan. He said: "Since the border closure, the mission in Afghanistan has been in contact with Pakistanis there, and 291 Pakistanis, including 15 students, have returned to the country from Afghanistan."
