Free body transfer service starts for the first time in Punjab, CM Maryam Nawaz approves

In a special meeting chaired by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Secretary Emergency Services Dr. Rizwan Naseer gave a briefing about the service. The meeting sought a comprehensive plan to start a government vehicle service at the level of major government hospitals and each tehsil.
According to the decision, at least one van will be available in each tehsil of Punjab that will transfer the body from the hospital to the house. The family of the deceased will be able to get the free service by calling 1122 or contacting the hospital counter.
The meeting also considered the proposal to regularize private ambulance services and fix their rates.
According to officials, the body transfer service will be monitored through a smart management system, while if necessary, the facility to transfer the body to another city will also be provided free of charge.
The provincial government says that the aim of this initiative is to save the grieving families from financial burden and provide them with immediate and dignified facilities.
