Rain and Hailstorms Bring Cooler Weather Across Punjab and Islamabad

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, heavy rain, strong winds and thunderstorms were reported in multiple cities including:

4. Pindi Bhattian
5. Gujranwala
6. Lala Musa
7. Kharian
8. Talagang
9. Narowal
10. Shakargarh
11. Nowshera Virkan
12. Khanqah Dogran
Lahore experienced intense rainfall along with hail, while light drizzle continued during the night.
Temperature Drop in Lahore and Islamabad
Weather conditions turned significantly cooler after the rainfall.
Lahore
Minimum temperature: 21°C
Maximum temperature: 30°C
Wind speed: 13 km/h
Humidity: 70%
In Islamabad, rain in several sectors lowered the temperature, with the morning reading dropping to around 13°C.
The Met Office predicted intermittent rainfall throughout the day, while the maximum temperature may reach 26°C.

In Rawalpindi, rainfall was recorded at several locations:
Saidpur Village – 8 mm
Katariyan – 7 mm
Chaklala – 6 mm
Bogra – 5 mm
Shamsabad – 4 mm
Pirwadhai – 2 mm
The rain helped reduce heat intensity and made the weather pleasant.
Rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Heavy overnight rainfall was also reported in Jamrud, Bara and the Tirah Valley in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bringing colder conditions and increasing water flow in local streams.
Karachi Weather Remains Hot
In contrast, Karachi continued to experience hot and humid weather.

According to the Air Quality Index (AQI), Karachi ranked fifth among the world’s most polluted cities, with particulate matter levels recorded at 177.
More Rain Expected
The Meteorological Department has forecast more showers and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours in several parts of Punjab and northern Pakistan.
