Dar, Turkish FM vow to boost bilateral cooperation at OIC meeting

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the sidelines of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) session in Jeddah, where both sides vowed to deepen bilateral relations and enhance multilateral cooperation.

As per the Foreign Office, Dar appreciated Turkey’s constructive role in regional affairs and reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to work closely with Ankara on common objectives.

The two ministers also reaffirmed their solidarity with the Palestinian people, voicing deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis and famine in Gaza.

They jointly stressed the urgent need for unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance and relief supplies to the besieged enclave.

Separately, while addressing the extraordinary OIC-CFM session, Dar cautioned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s provocative statements regarding the establishment of a “Greater Israel” pose a grave threat to regional peace and stability.

He said Israel’s insistence on exerting full military control over Gaza reflects a “rogue and annexationist mindset” that tramples international law.

Dar condemned Netanyahu’s statements as dangerous, stressing that they will worsen the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and derail peace efforts.

Pakistan, he reiterated, stands firmly with the Palestinians and will continue to advocate for their rights at every international forum.
