Pakistan’s Ishaq Dar Reaches Jeddah to Attend OIC FMs Meet

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in Saudi Arabia
Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister (FM) Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in Saudi Arabia on Monday to participate in the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Jeddah.

On his arrival, Ishaq Dar was warmly received by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Farooq, Consul-General Khalid Majeed, and Permanent Representative to the OIC, Fawad Bashir.

The high-level meeting will bring together foreign ministers and senior officials from OIC member states to deliberate on coordinated responses to the escalating situation in Palestine, arising from ongoing Israeli military aggression, proposed plans for full military control over Gaza, and continued violations of Palestinians’ rights, a spokesperson for the Foreign Office added.

As a steadfast advocate for the Palestinian cause, Pakistan consistently highlights the issue at international forums.

During the Extraordinary OIC-CFM session, Deputy Prime Minister Dar will reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for Palestine and reiterate the country’s principled stance.

He will advocate for the full withdrawal of Israel from all Occupied Palestinian Territories, reject the Israeli plan to extend full military control over Gaza and further displace Palestinians, emphasize the urgent need for unhindered humanitarian assistance, and call for the restoration of Palestinians’ legitimate rights most notably, the establishment of an independent, contiguous, and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

On the sidelines of the OIC-CFM session, DPM/FM Ishaq Dar is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from key OIC member states.
