Death toll rises to 10 in Faisalabad glue factory boiler blast

Initially, authorities reported three fatalities along with multiple injured. However, as rescue teams continued operations, the death toll rose to 10 after more bodies were recovered from the debris, while some critically wounded victims later succumbed to their injuries.
A spokesperson for the rescue department confirmed that 10 people had died in the incident, while seven injured individuals were receiving medical treatment.
According to the spokesperson, the powerful blast caused the factory structure to collapse and sparked a fire that spread rapidly.
He added that debris-clearing operations were still underway, and there were fears that more people could be trapped beneath the wreckage.
The explosion occurred inside the factory’s chemical storage section, and the impact of the blast caused a significant portion of the building including its roof to cave in.
Behind the premises of the factory, around seven to eight adjoining houses also suffered roof and structural damages, leaving residents as well as factory workers trapped under the rubble. Rescue teams were engaged in search and relief operations, with more debris being removed amid concerns that the casualty toll could rise.
Meanwhile, civil defence personnel have been called in to assist, and officials said the Faisalabad deputy commissioner is supervising the ongoing rescue and relief efforts at the site.
